It was an honor and a pleasure to have been commissioned by JBB to write this composition in 2016. “Symmetry” started from a few sketches written while practicing atonal solfeggios during my masters. These ideas were recycled and combined for “Symmetry”, which is based on my introductory made-up symmetrical scale, combined with oscillating odd meters and regular time signatures. The lyrics explore the symmetry of this world, the symmetry within us as human beings, and the symmetry of life.
